Most small samples tend to check out fine, so she orders more— but when she sends the larger orders to the lab for testing, it’s not always the same stuff as the original sample. And, there is no recourse.

The era of CBD is here! Although this is a relatively new industry, yearly sales of CBD based products are expected to rise exponentially. However, despite its wild popularity, misconceptions still surround this compound.
Bethany Gomez, a managing director of the Brightfield Group, a market research firm that has been tracking CBD sales, said, “I have never seen an industry grow this quickly, and I’ve never seen an industry with so much headwind.”
Last year, in the U.S. alone, the market hit about $600 million. Gomez forecasts that in as little as five years, it’s likely to be 40 times that, making CBD a $24 billion a year market.
She added, “Over the past year, it’s grown by more than 200%. And, that was with the market being federally illegal until December 20, when the Farm Bill passed.” With the Farm Bill now in action, things are going to be moving quickly.
With industrial hemp-derived CBD declared federally legal, big players are making plans to muscle into this marketplace. Rumor has it that even Coca-Cola is developing a CBD product.
The FDA has already approved one CBD drug called ‘Epidiolex’ that’s now in use to treat seizures associated with certain forms of childhood epilepsy.
Yasmin Hurd, a professor at Mount Sinai’s School of Medicine in New York, stated “The research to date gives us a big promise on which to build.”
